We are now offering an Introduction to A+ course
Introduction to A+
The Introduction to A+ course is designed for students who want to strengthen their knowledge of ICT, either for their own personal advancements, or as preparation if they wish to progress towards a full A+ certification as the next step. By using these resources, you will have the opportunity to learn and gain practise in the following aspects:
- Recognising and assembling hardware components
- Installing, configuring and maintaining devices
- Installing and configuring operation systems
- Recognising components used in a network
CompTIA A+ Certification:
The full CompTIA A+ certification provides a strong foundation for a career in IT. Though our course only offers an introduction, it does provide a starting point for those students who would like to take their studies further, and prepare for the full CompTIA A+ certification training and examination. This will cover maintenance of PCs, networking, mobile devices, laptops, operating systems, printers, security and troubleshooting techniques. Should you achieve CompTIA A+ you will be in a position to begin a career in such roles as:
- Computer Technician (typical salary: £18,000 – £35,000)
- Computer Support Specialist (£15,000 – £30,000)
- Help Desk Technician (£13,000 – £25,000)
Format of the Course:
This Introduction to A+ course will be split into five 3-hour sessions (15 hours in total). There may be one or two ‘catch-up’ sessions included.
The course content will be a combination of theory and practical work, with the emphasis, on the practical side. This is designed to give the participants a ‘taste’ of both the content of the full A+ certification course, and of the kind of work involved in any ICT based career. This will give each student the opportunity to make the decision whether this is the direction they want to follow, before they’ve taken the next step of investing in the full CompTIA A+ certification training and examination.
Cost of Classes:
The Introduction to A+ course is £30.
Books and Resources:
Suitable books will be recommended by the Course Tutor. Hardware for the practical work will be provided on-site. Any further course materials, such as handouts, exercises, etc. are going to be available in class as and when required. On completion of the course, your Tutor will be able to advise you about the next steps if you want to progress towards the full CompTIA A+ certification training.
